Biography
TJ Cradick PhD has been at the forefront of gene editing for 20+ years, having started at Sangamo Biosciences in 2000 and led research on ZFNs, TALENs and CRISPR, including starting the project that was renamed Casgevy upon commercial approval.

Previously, TJ Cradick was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at HuidaGene Therapeutics, a global, clinical-stage biotech company that has developed a number of proprietary gene editing tools.
Before HuidaGene, TJ was the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Excision BioTherapeutics, a clinical-stage biotech company that is developing CRISPR-based therapies to cure viral infectious diseases and improve the lives of chronically ill patients. TJ led Excision's scientific vision and strategy, oversaw the research and development of its pipeline projects, and managed collaborations with academic and industry partners.
TJ is the former Head of Genome Editing at CRISPR Therapeutics. As the 2nd US CRISPR Tx employee, he had many responsibilities through the company’s progression to a clinical stage company.
TJ was faculty and Director of the Protein Engineering Facility at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where the research included bioinformatics and assays for CRISPR / Cas9 on- & off-target events.
TJ is a recognized leader and innovator in the field of CRISPR/Cas9 technology, having published several influential papers on its applications, mechanisms, and optimization. He is also a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Eucalyptus Bio (CRISP-HR Therapeutics, Inc.) and at Catalytic Data Science. TJ is passionate about advancing the science and practice of CRISPR/Cas9 to address unmet medical needs and transform the lives of patients.
