What does "fat-selective weight loss" mean, and why does it matter? What does "fat-selective weight loss" mean, and why does it matter?
When people talk about "high-quality weight loss," they are describing fat-selective weight loss—dropping excess fat while keeping muscle intact.
The Problem with Traditional Weight Loss
Most standard weight-loss interventions work by cutting calories, whether through a low-calorie diet or ap... more

Can you actually increase the amount of brown fat in adults? Can you actually increase the amount of brown fat in adults?
Yes, you absolutely can!
Unlike regular white fat, which stores excess calories, brown fat acts like a cellular furnace. One of its main functions is to generate heat to keep us warm. It does this by burning through stored fat and sugars using a specialized protein called UCP-1 (Uncoupling Protein-1... more

Why do people regain weight after stopping GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic or Wegovy)? Why do people regain weight after stopping GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic or Wegovy)?
The GLP-1 Rebound: What Happens When the Meds Stop?
Weight-loss medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro have completely changed the game. But they've also brought a major, frustrating challenge to light: what happens when you stop taking them?
Recent data shows that the weight doesn't just cr... more

Thanks for following. Tell me more about Gene Traffic Control platform - what is that?
Hi Chris,
thanks for reaching out!
It's the name of our proprietary drug discovery engine. It is designed to study and modulate the chromatin regulatory system, which - in a simplified way - controls when, where, and in what order genes are expressed. By targeting these mechanisms, we hope to correc... moreHi Chris,

It's the name of our proprietary drug discovery engine. It is designed to study and modulate the chromatin regulatory system, which - in a simplified way - controls when, where, and in what order genes are expressed. By targeting these mechanisms, we hope to correct abnormal gene expression that causes cancer.1 -
What are the limitations of enzyme replacement therapy for Fabry disease? What are the limitations of enzyme replacement therapy for Fabry disease?
Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) controls Fabry disease but does not cure it, and its limitations fall into five categories: incomplete tissue reach, pharmacokinetic instability, immunogenicity, treatment burden, and cost.
Fabry disease is an X-linked lysosomal storage disorder caused by defi... more

How is Energesis’ brown fat approach different from earlier brown fat obesity treatments that failed to translate in humans? How is Energesis’ brown fat approach different from earlier brown fat obesity treatments that failed to translate in humans?
Thank you for asking! Brown fat has interested obesity researchers and drug developers for decades because it burns energy rather than stores it. Earlier brown fat approaches struggled to translate into effective human obesity treatments though. To understand why we believe Energesis’ approach is di... more

Tyson, thanks for connecting. Ejoyed your article: https://www.biotech.fund/kb/article/cultivating-an-ecosystem-of-trust-through-principled-decision-making Dyno Frontiers Network sounds like a great model, how would you see that working for Glafabra?
Hi Chris - it would depend on your goals. Our goal is to maximize the number of AAV based gene therapies which can successfully benefit from the use of our AAV technology platform. Hi Chris - it would depend on your goals. Our goal is to maximize the number of AAV based gene therapies which can successfully benefit from the use of our AAV technology platform. Success in classical terms of safety and efficacy, but also in terms of lower cost, time and risk in drug development. So the decisions we make are deliberately made towards that aim. So for you, first defining what your goal is can help you determine IF a network strategy makes sense for you and if so, how to design it.
I presume your platform can be licensed to others, if so that is where a network strategy makes a lot of sense. Dyno doesn’t develop our own gene therapies and so a network is essential.
happy to chat more,
Tyson
